Providing compassionate, personalized mental health care for all ages, helping individuals build resilience and reclaim a sense of well-being.
After practicing in family medicine for about ten years, I realized I had developed a passion for treating people with mental health disorders. I have witnessed the pain and suffering that living with mental health disorders can cause – both professionally and personally – and it gives me a sense of purpose to serve my patients and see them reclaim hope and a sense of well-being.
I have extensive experience treating a wide range of mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, personality disorders, and many more.
I provide therapy, medication management, and psychiatric services to children, adolescents, and adults. I particularly enjoy working with patients who have experienced treatment failure in the past, those who can’t seem to find relief from their symptoms.
I also work with patients to safely come off their psychiatric medications. My ideal patient comes with an open mind and a desire to improve.
I utilize a variety of treatments ranging from traditional to modern. These include medication management, psychotherapy, nutritional therapy, and other lifestyle modifications. With every patient, it’s a process of learning and understanding what works best and what they’re most interested in trying. When we work together, I will work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan that addresses your goals. This includes eliminating any troubling patterns or symptoms that may have prompted your visit, and creating a holistic treatment plan that recognizes you as a person, not just a collection of symptoms.
It has been my experience that many patients will see an improvement in their symptoms with changes to their lifestyle, including diet, level of physical activity, exposure to toxins, stress management, and sleep patterns.
My approach to mental wellness is solution-focused, and together, we will develop a plan that gets your body and your brain functioning more optimally.
I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and family nurse practitioner (FNP-BC). I have lived in the Vancouver, WA area for about ten years. I have four kids, ages 19, 17, 12, and 8. We also have a dog and a ball python.
I enjoy physical activities like exercising and lifting weights. I also love the beautiful region where we live – the Pacific Northwest – and take time to see as much of it as possible through hiking, backpacking, climbing, and camping.
Many people take care of their physical body through exercise, good nutrition, and getting plenty of sleep. They often see immediate improvements, including increasing strength and resiliency, and continue to see improvements for as long as they take care of themselves.
Mental health works similarly. Although you don’t have the immediate gratification of looking at yourself and seeing the progress, you can certainly feel it. Through therapy, medication management, or other psychiatric services, you increase strength and resiliency in your mental health. You cultivate a strong mind that’s able to contend with the nonstop challenges of life in the modern world.
