We know insurance can feel confusing, and many wonder, ‘does health insurance cover psychiatric services?’ The answer is yes for here at Strong Mind Psychiatry.
We are in-network with many major plans in Washington State and Oregon, and we can often work with out-of-network benefits as well. Networks can change, so please verify your plan before your first visit.

What Your Insurance May Cover
Coverage is not guaranteed until your plan processes a claim. But you can expect:
- Initial psychiatric evaluation
- Medication management and follow-up visits
- Psychotherapy (individual sessions)
- Telehealth (video) visits
- Care coordination with your therapist and PCP
What is typically not covered:
- Missed appointment fees
- Letters, forms, and extended record requests
- Labs or tests
Telehealth Coverage
Telehealth appointments are great for reducing travel and time away from work or school. Many plans in WA and OR cover telehealth similar to in-person care. Just confirm your telehealth coverage before you book.
However, you must be physically located in a state where your clinician is licensed at the time of your visit.
Out-of-Network and Self-Pay Options
If we are out of network, we can give you a detailed, itemized bill to send to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
We can also submit courtesy claims to save you time (when possible).
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes, new patients are welcome! And there is no waitlist at this time. Just please confirm your insurance benefits before scheduling an initial appointment.
